Christmas at the Page One-Room School House
The last Open House of 2016 at the Page One-Room School will be a family affair on Sunday, from 2 to 4 PM. Karen Boldman will be singing familiar Christmas carols from 2 to 2:30 PM followed by Mary Fulton reading the ever popular story "The Twelve Days of Christmas", a story for children as well as adults. After this wonderful afternoon of entertainment the children will be making decorations to hang outside on the trees for the birds to eat. Refreshments will be served.

Return of the Snakes to Serpent Mound

Built by Native Americans at least 1,000 years ago, possibly even longer, Serpent Mound aptly demonstrates the fact that the ability of serpents to inspire and intrigue people is timeless. We will be displaying live snakes, turtles, and even a few amphibians to not only admire and gaze upon, but to touch and learn from. Naturalists from Hueston Woods and Shawnee State Parks and from the Arc of Appalachia will be giving educational presentations throughout the day, suitable for all ages.

Archaeology Day at Serpent Mound

We are celebrating Ohio's rich American Indian legacies. Attend lectures by prominent archaeologists, tour artifact displays bring your own collection for help in interpreting what you've found, and try your own hand at ancient skills from flint-knapping to atlatl throwing. Join us for a day full of Native American demonstrations and displays. Demonstrations will be done throughout the day and artifact displays will be set up throughout the park. Native American games and face painting will be available for all of the children.

Event is free with $8.00 parking fee. Event is under shelter and will be held rain or shine.
